Trump Admits He's Suing Himself, Plans to Pay Himself
Description
Trump is on both sides of a $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS and Treasury — agencies he now runs. Asked what it's like to negotiate a settlement with himself, he didn't deny the absurdity. He leaned into it: "I'm supposed to work out a settlement with myself," he told reporters, floating a payout to charities of his own choosing. A president with any respect for the office he holds would recuse himself the moment he's litigating against the government he leads. Instead, Trump is gloating about it on Air Force One. There is no version of "the president sues the government and picks his own reward" that isn't corruption wearing a suit.
