A Federal Judge Confirms: DOJ Manufactured a Case to Punish Walz
Description
A federal judge — a George W. Bush appointee, not some partisan pick — threw out DOJ grand jury subpoenas targeting Governor Tim Walz and other Minnesota officials, ruling there was "no doubt" they were issued to punish Walz for refusing to help with immigration enforcement. The judge called it part of a "broader campaign to coerce state and local officials." This is not a case of process being sloppy. A federal court found, in writing, that the Justice Department manufactured a criminal investigation as political leverage against a sitting governor who wouldn't cooperate with ICE.
