Kennedy Center Claims It Can't Survive Without Trump's Name on It
Description
DOJ told a federal appeals court that removing Trump's name from the Kennedy Center could cause "financial ruin," because major donors reportedly gave money only on the condition his name stayed on the building — a clause quietly written into the foundation's bylaws in March, shortly before a judge ordered the name removed. That same judge already ruled Trump's hand-picked board had no legal authority to rename the center in the first place; only Congress can do that. For fifty years the Kennedy Center raised money in memory of an assassinated president without needing a living one's name on the wall. The claim that it suddenly can't survive without Trump's branding says everything about what that institution has been turned into.
